A couple of days ago, we came across a very cool infographic on the cost and return of social media. Though it’s posted in full below, these are what we believe to be the most important takeaways for business owners, marketing executives, and other social media decision-makers:
- The average total cost of a social media campaign (including staff) is $210,600
- 85.4% of marketing executives feel that customer engagement is the main benefit of social media
- Just 17.5% believe that customer service is the main benefit
- Facebook fans of a brand are 41% more likely than non-fans to recommend the brand and it’s products to their friends
- The monthly value of a Twitter follower is approximately $2.38; the monthly cost per follower is $1.67
