On December 17, 2010, Vice President Andrew Krebs-Smith visited his alma mater, Loyola University, to offer social media advice to a class of Executive MBA students. The presentation, “Executive Strategy: Social Media Marketing,” highlighted the importance of strategy in social media.
Andrew began with a couple of examples of businesses who have effectively (and not so effectively) used social media, in order to demonstrate how strategy and research can make all the difference.
Andrew continued with an explanation of all the different ways that social media can be used for business, including advertising, search engine optimization, market research, customer service, and sales/lead generation. At Social Fulcrum, we use social media for more than just promotion.
Andrew touched on a variety of topics throughout the rest of the presentation, including social media ROI, B2B uses of social media, and the various stages of social media awareness. Andrew then dissected a case study from a past client, and concluded with the steps he takes when someone approaches him for his social media services.
